won't you take me to funky town

Yesterday Emma says to me "we get the most boring mail EVER" and stomped off in a huff. Evidently not only do I have to deal with the everyday parenting stuff, I now need to worry that our mail isn't stimulating enough. Gah!
Well today I beg to differ, because look what showed up in my box-
Holy 80's flashback! I swear when I opened the envelope I got a whiff of Love's Baby Soft and heard the chorus to "Wake me up before you Go Go".
This one is a little too blown out- the light purples are really dark and the navyish color is black. The color is called 'LOOSE NUT' and it's from a punk rock sock collection. I don't know anything about the indie dyer, but the yarn is delicious and soft and I can't wait to make something from it! I think I will make her some socks. And a mix tape.

I also got a different type of good mail today, in the form of a praise email from Evan's teacher.
They got report cards on Monday and she had written some nice things in there, but she took the time to send me a note saying how much she likes Evan and how great he is to have in class, and what a responsible and respectful young man he is. Awww. My kids have had the best teachers, I swear!
Happy Wednesday!

Emma has no idea that boring mail can also be good mail. ;)

I suppose if it isnt for them then it is deemed boring isnt it. My kids rush out to the mailbox around their birthdays, otherwise they dont bother. I on the other hand always hope that we dont get the horrible mail, bills, that is. Your yarns look so nice and I cant wait to see how they knit up.
