soccer girl

Tomorrow is the last game of Emma's freshman season.
Even though they didn't have a very winning season, there was quite a bit of good soccer. We all know the final score doesn't always tell the story of the game. Many games they dominated the entire 60 minutes, but lost by one lucky shot by the opponent.
I'm a little sad to see it end.
Emma has become so confidant and strong. I love to watch her play.
Here's a few shots during a game last week...

This one makes me laugh because this girl was all up on Em, and she was fed up. So when number 4 knocked her over, she screamed loudly. Like, startlingly loud. We were all "Who's kid is that??" After the game, she told us she did it on purpose, because the ref was making terrible calls and she wanted to make sure he heard/saw her get fouled. Hilarious.
I'm so excited to see what happens for her next year!

Life got in the way

I haven't posted in a really long time. May has been supercrazybusy, and I haven't finished many weeks of project life.
Evan had the stomach flu for 9 days and missed an entire week of school.
We had a garage sale.
Then I started feeling not so great, in addition to the busy.
My vision was getting very blurry, and my head felt like I took a monster dose of Benadryl and couldn't shake it off.
So I went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with diabetes.
Awesome.
Another thing to overcome in 2012.
Luckily, I know that with time and dedication I can get off the new medications I've added to my repertoire, and that I can go back to eating the things I like in moderation. I'm just so tired today. I want to not be so damned tired all the time.
I plan to work on PL the next few days and then post. I really want to keep up with this project.
In the meantime, here is a cool photo of my kid playing soccer.

Project Life: week 16

Week 16, in the books!
Here's the spread:
Left side: I used 2 different CZ templates, which by far are my most used digi elements. They make my book so much easier! Heidi Swapp labels, tiny text, a tab from All Things Handmade, and a quote bubble cut from the silhouette.
Close up of the bottom right corner. I also used my sewing machine to add a little something.
Jillibean soup label, and I sewed on the circles for some texture and interest.

Right side: Jillibean soup label, MS label, AC thickers, sandlots of hand journaling.
I also used a CZ digi stamp on this photo, after several unsuccessful attempts at adding a journaling box.
It was a good mail week....I got a package almost every day. I love this new yarn that I ordered. I stuck the business card behind, so I can find it and use it again!
You may notice that my pics have all turned into soccer pics. Well, last week, we averaged about 30 hours worth of soccer related activity. The truth is, that feels like all I do some days. My photos reflect that. Next month, I'm sure I'll have tons of popsicle eating pics!
Thanks for looking!
